Mayor Richard E. Leary

Dick Leary has served the Mine Hill Community as Mayor since the beginning of the century. Following his first term which began in 2000, Mayor Leary has been re-elected twice, with his current four year term extending through 2011.

A resident of Mine Hill for over three decades, Mayor Leary has been an active member of the Planning Board, Open Space Committee (at both the Township and County levels), Sewer Committee, Community Development Revenue Sharing Committee, and the Morris County League of Municipalities.

His Community Service has included 10 years as a member of the Board of Adjustment, 2 years as a member of the Board of Education, membership on the Committee to Save Dover General Hospital, 4 years as a Head Coach in the Soccer Program, 4 years as a Cub Scoutmaster, and time as a Mine Hill Beach Volunteer.

Mayor Leary's 35 years of experience in Retail Management with the King's Supermarket chain have proven invaluable in guiding the township administration through the challenges of the past several years. With the support of his wife Charlene, and children Richard (19) and Christina (15), Mayor Leary looks forward to continuing to contribute to the quality of life in Mine Hill for years to come.
