The Wharton Borough Police Department has been providing law enforcement services to the Township of Mine Hill since May 1, 2002. The Department currently consists of 21 sworn officers and 2 civilian employees. Dispatching services are provided by the Morris County Communications Center. Police Headquarters are located at 10 Robert Street, Wharton, NJ in the rear of the Wharton Muncipal Building.

Monday – Friday 8:30-4:30pm

Police Contact Number - Whenever it is necessary to contact the police, the public should call 973-366-0557 for assistance. Dial 911 only in an emergency. Do not think you are bothering them by calling. They are here to assist you.

The Office is open late the first Thursday of every month until 7:30pm. The first Friday of every month the Office closes at 12:30. The Administrative Offices and Records phone number is 973-366-5893. The Police Department fax number is 973-366-8961.

Residents requiring Copies of Reports, Vacant Home Checks, Temporary Handicapped Parking Permits, Firearms Identification Cards, Pistol Permits and Good Conduct Letters are asked to contact the Police Department during normal business hours.
